ANTEZ invites listeners into a new dimension of sonic perception. His projects resemble a slow-motion Dervish dance, where he circles a large bass drum, rubbing various cymbals and other objects (like screws or copper pipes) against the drumhead. The tantric layers of his performances build a unique, yet strangely familiar, sonic fabric, bringing the audience into intimate closeness with the artist and with the universe itself. His set will begin at 7 PM on Sunday, October 19, and will be followed by a guest performance with cellist Ayşe Deniz Birdal.
Originally from Turkey, the cellist and singer arrives from Párkány with the clear goal of building a bridge between genres and cultures. Her performance combines contemporary classical music and Turkish folk with improvisation and poetry. Her music also tells the personal story of a woman and an artist, narrating her experiences as she journeyed across Europe. Through the intertwining of diverse musical traditions, her unique sound will tell a story of identity and migration.
