Northwest is an experimental-pop duo formed by multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer Ignacio Simón and producer, composer and singer Mariuca García-Lomas. It was founded in 2015 in London, UK, where they were based until 2022 when they moved to Madrid, Spain.
They’ve been compared to acts such as Radiohead, Mark Hollis, Miles Davis and Portishead because of their constant dialogue between form and experimentation, electronic and orchestral textures and their use of odd time signatures. They move between different genres, from classical contemporary to art pop and psychedelia.
